A Sésta

Pierrot escondido por entre o amarello dos gyrassois espreita em cautela o somno d'ella dormindo na sombra da tangerineira. E ella não dorme, espreita tambem de olhos descidos, mentindo o sôno, as vestes brancas do Pierrot gatinhando silencios por entre o amarelo dos gyrassois. E porque Elle se vem chegando perto, Ella mente ainda mais o sôno a mal-resonar. 

Junto d'Ella, não teve mão em si e foi descer-lhe um beijo mudo na negra meia aberta arejando o pé pequenino. Depois os joelhos redondos e lizos, e já se debruçava por sobre os joelhos, a beijar-lhe o ventre descomposto, quando Ella acordou cançada de tanto sôno fingir.

E Elle ameaça fugida, e Ella furta-lhe a fuga nos braços nús estendidos. 

E Ella, magoada dos remorsos de Pierrot, acaricia-lhe a fronte num grande perdão. E, feitas as pazes, ficou combinado que Ella dormisse outra vez.

During the 1930s, Sonia Delaunay’s life was divided between fashion design, articles in magazines, interior decorating, and projects for window displays and posters. In 1937, the Exposition Internationale des Arts et Techniques dans la Vie Moderne, backed by Léon Blum’s (1872–1950) Popular Front government, solicited the participation of the Delaunays in the decoration of two temporary exhibition buildings: the Pavillon des Chemins de Fer and the Palais de l’Air. Voyages lointains and Portugal, which Sonia painted for the railroad pavilion, were awarded a gold medal....Read more
